Forest Pictures
Forest Pictures is a surprisingly popular search phrase although I have no idea of exactly who they might be or what they are looking for. For us, it is another opportunity to showcase some of our royalty free stock forest pictures. We had somehow also acquired the dot net domain name and built a placeholder website on it. That has now been given a permanent redirect to the dot com.
Forests cover a significant portion of the earths surface and are an interesting ecosystem. Lots of interesting cultural implications of living in a forest based culture. My graduate training was in forest ecology so writing about the pictures I published on the site was fun and gave me a chance to write about some of the forest ecology concepts which the photographs illustrate.
This site also provided my first chance to talk about the coming 18 megapixel revolution in stock photography. With such high resolution cameras soon to be available at consumer prices the expectation for stock photo quality will increase. This will be an opportunity for a small business to break into the stock photography business.
