How does an individual photographer compete with the giant stock photo companies?
- Offer 18 megapixel images in both jpg and RAW format. With the recent purchase of a Canon EOS Rebel T2i camera we will be loading our sites with these huge images as quickly as we can.
- Use the power of search to make pictures easy to find. A site which controls millions of stock images requires you to learn the best keywords to drill down through their collection until you find what you want. We publish our pictures on the keyword rich domains and work to rank highly for key phrases that accurately describe our pictures. Customers searching Google, Bing, or Yahoo for specific stock photographs will find us at the top of the search results if we have the images they need.
- Royalty Free. There is an old saying that the large print gives and the fine print takes away! Have you ever read the Terms of Use on a large stock photo site? When you were done were you certain the purchase price included your intended use? Were you confident that if you used their stock image to develop a very profitable product you would not be liable for additional payments? Our rules are simple! You never pay more than the purchase price no matter how you use the image and how much money you make with it.
- Help buyers use our pictures. Many potential customers don't realize the free Picasa editing software from Google will let them easily add their own greetings and annotations to pictures they buy from us. Their enhanced images can be uploaded to one of the online photo processors. We are developing video(s) that will show people how they can make their own custom greeting cards for the cost of one of our digitally download stock photos plus about $0.50 in card stock, envelope, and printing costs.
