Building a small business from gardening expertise

We have three ideas for gardens and gardening related sites.

  1. Garden Pictures. We like photography and since we live in the arid Southwestern USA we really cherish pictures of lush greenery. We also think it goes well with proverbs and sayings about gardens.
  2. Gardening. Gardens are an important component of healthy food and sustainable growing. Recent studies show more and more benefits from growing your own food or buying from small growers. As this movement grows domains related to this will become more popular.
  3. Garden Products. People like to make their gardens look nice. That may include lights, fountains, and other products, as well as the tools used to work in the garden. All of these subjects have potential to become interesting websites.

We have collected some old garden journals from the 1920's and 30's. These volumes contain good information about what are now heirloom varieties and predate the use of chemical insecticides and fertilizers. We think we can build some really interesting content sites about gardening in the old days.
